In April 2017, Emily Vivian joined the Weinheimer Law Firm, returning to the private practive of law after working for several years at the Illinois Attorney General's Office, where she served as Bureau Chief of Land Acquisition - Springfield. In that role, she represented the State of Illinois in eminent domain actions and other land acquisition matters.
Prior to working for the Illinois Attorney General's Office, Emily practiced with her father's firm in Dixon, Illinois, focusing on estate planning and administration, real estate law and business entity formation, and she is excited for the opportunity to practice in those areas once again.
Emily is a member of the Standing Committee on Government Lawyers for the Illinois State Bar Association, for which she currently serves as co-editor of the committee's newsletter. In addition, Emily is a former member of the Illinois Real Estate Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association.
Originally from northern Illinois, Emily and her family moved to Glen Carbon several years ago due to her husband's career. They have enjoyed getting to know Edwardsville and the surrounding area and have found the community inviting and welcoming. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, who keep her busy attending soccer, baseball and basketball games.
